Australian V8's
Discussion
I was watching the Pukekohe round of the V8's and I was slightly outraged. When it came to the the third round, the announcers came out and said that if Rick Kelly won the 3rd round he would win the round, eventhough Garth Tander had won the previous two rounds.
Doesn't that sound a tad unfair.

Yes, there are three races per round and Garth Tander had won two of the three, but apprently whoever win the third an final race, wins the round, no matter how well theyve done in the previous two.
Seems strange but not unfair. Surely all the competitors know what the situation is.
It just means that the first two races are effectively practice sessions which I believe most race series have and do not award points for.
Being a huge fan (and friend) of GT I was a bit peeved as well, however it is the way the points are allocated for the 3 races. Even though GT had won the first 2, Rick had scored enough points in them so that his win in the 3rd race, given Garth's 7th or 8th, put them equal on points for the round.
The advantage then goes to the higher position in the final race. Quite fair really.
