Alfa GTV Alarm/Central locking problem

Hello all,

Slight problem with my alarm/central locking. Some times when I press the key to lock and alarm the car it beeps twice instead of the normal once (well, normal for my car). If I then come back to it within an hour or 2 and press the key to unlock it turns the alarm off but it won’t activate the central locking. If I unlock the door the old fashioned way (key in lock) all is well. Or, if I come back to it several hours later all works fine. What’s going on??

Sometimes when I’m driving, the yellow key light come on, no other lights with it. According to the manual it’s doing a self diagnostic – is this correct?

Any thoughts welcome!!

Don't know what the answer is, but it sounds like you have the same alarm as me - one long beep for lock, 2 short for unlock.
If there's a problem (e.g. bootlid open etc) when locking, it beeps again to let you know something's wrong.

So is there any way I can get it to tell me exactly what the problem is? Fault codes etc?
