Motorcycle Hire

Does anybody rent bikes anymore?
(A few down London way but would prefer much more local).
Getting an urge to buy a bike again, unfortunately i can't afford too and it would end up being used about 10 times a year hence selling my last ones.

Just fancy renting something for a day or two to get it out my system.
Nothing to sporty, maybe a Fazer or similar, or a big traily / motard.

Might be wrong, but I think there's a bike shop in Uppingham that hires bikes. Seem to remember a sign outide last time I drove past. Don't know what its called - might be a Harley Dealer, but its on the crossroads on the main street through.

Maybe someone more local to Uppingham can confirm if I have made this up or not....

Harley dealer on A6003 in Uppingham next to Shell station and I think I was told they hire out

Bit young for the Harley 'thang' just yet and i haven't got a pointy beard and bandana.
Buells do look like a bot of a laugh though.

Looks very much like outside of London or Bournemouth no go.
Bit of a gap in the market i would have thought, must be 1000's who just fancy the occasional blast on a bike.

I think the Harley dealer is Sycamore, not sure if they have anything else.

Yes, Sycamores in Uppingham do hire out Harleys. They also sell Buells, not sure if they hire them out though.

They do indeed hire Buells accordingto the web site, £100 a day though not megacheap but may have to take a pootle over and have a look. Buells always look good fun, modern sporty chassis and brakes and grunty tractor engine with wads of torque.

This might explain it. Taken from a bike website: as of 23rd November 2006, I have stopped offering motorcycle hire. I'm happy to explain why, to any interested parties, but it comes down to the level of machine damage, cost of insurance, thefts and crashes. It's a lot of work, hassle and risk - for little or no return - so why do it?
