Hui was wondering the same thing too! Croft is one of his favourite
circuits and had he known earlier he may have joined you...

All sorts from marcos, MG zt 260, 600bhp fiesta, morgan +8 caterfield down to mg metro's.

The DDMC are a good lot, some of them came out to play with us a croft in 04 to help fill up the grid a bit.

If I'd had a couple of spare beer tokens I'd have been straight up there as Croft is a fantastic circuit I hope we go there next year.

I almost joined them at Cadwell last season as we didnt go there.

The Northern Sports & Saloon Car Championship is run by Darlington & District Motor Club. In truth, this club represents all of the north east because Croft is the only circuit between Knockhill and Cadwell so its a well supported championship - I was in it a couple of years ago in my Westfield.

It maybe too late but Dave Dalton is the Championship coordinator and I believe they can take late entries - tel 01642 593276 or email nsscc@darlington-motor-club.org.uk

PS. My car isn't ready yet so I'll just be supporting.

Forgot to mention - there's another round at Croft on the 19th & 20th May.

They used to run it as two grids due to the numbers and types of cars entered in the championship. So the first race would be the stock hatches and lower powered sportscars, then the next race would be the quicker stuff. Thought I'd just mention in case anyone might be concerned about racing on a track full of hatchbacks. No offence to hatchbacks of course. The 600bhp Fiesta got to play with the big boys though; I remember him lapping me twice before winning the race ! (There, I think I got out of that one okay scratchchin )

Kind words Kevan, much appreciated. We are getting some way to sorting the Turbo Taz now. It was flying through the Clark esses and Clerveau but everything I gained around the rest or the track was lost on the left hander into the complex. It just would not turn in there and I had to scrub off all the speed every time so the Morgan and Tony clawed back all I had pulled out every where else. The pit straight showed the difference in power but I had some good fun retaking them going into Clerveau a couple of times, even the off was for a bit of devilment. Great weekend had by all the TVRs I think. Richard, Ben and Gary put some good times in with Tony leading the way. Just 1 or 2 irritating little problems but we will get there. I think the clutch problem is fixed now and we found 2 other electrical probs on Sunday morning while we were looking for the cause of the cutout in the first race, so we didn't fritter our time away drinking beer and stuff and chatting up dancing girls.
Speaking of which, a big thank you to Team Wright racing for their generous hospitality over the weekend and Skippy for the none stop supply of food and drink. And not forgetting JKs polished effort.
Cracking weekend at a cracking circuit.
It sounds as though you were having a good time as well in the Fun Cup. Sorry we didn't get to see much of your racing Saturday but it took a while to get to the clutch. Good start though if you were up in the top ten. Must have sorted the rear corner then.
Best of look for the rest of the season.
Rgds Tim.

Well done to those racing at Croft and those who raced at Silverstone, great stuff.

Superb racing by Tony Abrams out-manoeuvring Tim (just) in his Tasmin which was excellent to watch from the Stands.

Good camaderie in the paddock as well catching up with drivers that are in other classes of racing, together with a couple of drivers with Tuscans in their garages, awaiting open-heart surgery to get them ready for next season, which is excellent news for the Tuscan Challenge.

Thanks to all at TWR for a great weekend.

Sharon
