Yeah baby! I got a transit permit today and insurance so I can drive it around to get
it certified. What a blast! I don't think I'll be able to sleep at all tonight!
I think I might call in sick tomorrow and go for a ride. laugh

Thanks Jim, Mike and Pickle for looking after my baby.

I might just have to sign up again here with the nic burble-burble, because while I'm still
very much a rotor-head, that piston pumping sound just pulses through my veins! I got in about
130 miles today and the looks I got were just insane laugh

http://control-alt-delete.ca/mywedge. I got to film the thing rolling into my sight.

Sounds great, looks great! Sorry about the multiple F-word in the video, I was having a really
hard time containing myself! LOL

One thing I noticed, so here's my first trouble shooting question, the idle seems a little low once warm
and the engine tends to die unless I keep my foot on the throttle. I put this down to being tuned for sea level
and not 3,500 + feet. Could there be another cause?

Glad you're happy. I even got a spanner on this one while Jim had it.

As I recall it's a flapper, so you can bring the idle speed up a little for 3500 feet by turning the grub screw that stops the throttle from closing completely. It'll only take a minute to do this.

No NO not that one! You will upset the throttle potentiometer setting. Adjust the screw on the plenum.

Great video, post some more when you can. Welcome to the mad house clap

Based on your enthousiasm Canada is bound to become the next Wales or Blackpool a/d Rijn.

Enjoy the beast. At least petrol is cheaper, so one excuse less to not drive it. Until you find out a wedge likes to 'drink' (like us) when you fully enjoy it. And with Canada(never been there myself so don't know): how many miles to the next service station? Perhaps you need to have a 'fuel plan' for longer trips....

I got the insurance for public liability and property damage, but they wont cover fire, theft, glass any anything
comprehensive without a $5,000 deductable. I think I read somewhere that a windscreen for the tiv is 995.oo quid?
If that's the case, that's $3k to me after shipping, and cosidering I can't use them for even glass replacement,
I'll just have to hope I hit nothing.

On another note, I think I found a good mechanic that I can trust to look after my car. Obviously you don't take a
fine car like a wedge to just anybody, so I got this guy to do my "out of province" inspection (ie: MOT, but one time only)
His experience as listed on his website is:

Kuks experience dates back from 1990 and his involvement in Motorsports has been extensive. From working with the FIA as a
Scrutineer for the acclaimed Safari Rally to working as a Mechanic and providing services for World Rally Teams, Regional Rally
Teams and National Rally Teams.

Building race, rally and road cars from scratch - upgrading and developing suspension, clutch, transmission, engine and engine
management parts and systems.

Extensive R&D in developing prototype projects and taking them to testing stages and completion. Successfully set up and
competed in various forms of motorsports.

Any and all types of projects undertaken - if you can dream it we can build it !!!!!

Now of course anybody can claim anything on their website, however, here's the ringing endorsement
for his work... www.zrauto.ca/ They are a used (and maybe new?) Ferrari, Lambo, Saleen etc etc
exotic car dealership just 10 blocks down the street from me. They refered me to him and said that he does
mechanical work on their cars, so if they trust him with a Saleen S7, or a Vanquish, or a Lambo, I'm sure I
can trust their judgement refering me to him.

I'm very pleased. I've got a great car, it took no damage on the way, I've found a competant mechanic that's
used to dealing in exotic and semi-exotic cars, and furthermore, my car should be ready (if it passes) to get a
licence plate this Friday, just in time for the "show n shine" in Edmonton, three hours North. The show n shine is
put on by these guys: (of which I'm a member) www.ivoac.ca/pn/ We fight Kanuckistan's 15 year old import law
(proposed to be raised to 25 years) because a) most foreign imports are in better shape than the rusted out pieces
of sh|t3 you see here, and b) the hoops they make us importers jump through for compliancy to Cdn standards are bogus.
This Sunday we have a meeting with the Ministry of Transport Canada where we get to present our case. (after the show n shine)
All of those cars of our members are JDM AFAIK (Japanese domestic market) and I've got the ONLY TVR. (I know for sure)
So, I'll be very happy to represent my fellow wedgies this Sunday. I hope I do you proud.

Next weekend following that is: www.westerndriver.com/abfm/index.htm which I've already booked the time off
work to attend. It's a long weekend here. Victoria (queen) Day long weekend. We celebrate her B-day here since she's
the queen that allowed Canada to go it's own way. I've also got 2 British car shows to go to in July, one locally and
one in Edmonton. If I can find more to attend I most certainly will.

It's meant to be driven, but meant to be shown off here too! So far the wedge has gotten a million "thumbs up" and I
see a lot of lips... if you read lips they say "nice car!" laugh

Mike,
Congratulations on finally getting your car and starting to enjoy it. I can only imagine how exciting it was to see it and get in it and start putting miles on it, all the while listening to that very sweet sound from the V8.
Now, when are you going to bring it down to a meet here in the States so the rest of us can get jealous?

I'd love to Marshall, but unfortunatley Uncle Sam is still mad at my for getting busted with a joint 20 years ago
and wont let me in.

On another note, it passed the "out of province" inspection today, no emmissions in this province, so I'm
all set to put a licence plate on it tomorrow.

Well, since they won't let you in to the States, I guess I need to get up to Bronte next year and see the car there, right?

Enjoy and keep it between the ditches.

Bronte? A Cdn TVR gathering?

Yes, it's held at Bronte Provincial Park just west of Toronto every September and is the largest British car show in North America with something over 1,200 British cars in attendance every year, including approximately 2 dozen TVRs.
You can do a Google search and come up with details. It would be a great 'coming out party' for your 390SE.
