Cerberas take on the best of the rest..............
Discussion
Right, I've had an idea for a while now, and I just need to start pulling all the administration together to get it going. Nearly every week a thread pops up along the lines 'Cerbera vs Noble, Cerbera vs 911, etc etc. I know that Clarkson vid is legendary on this forum, but lets face it guys, times have moved on since then. I want to stage a 1 mile airfield drag where I work at Wattisham Airfield, near Ipswich. I want to invite Cerberas, plus one or two models of every supercar produced over the last decade or so, to get a definitive and unarguable list of the most accelerative cars out there. The one rule is they must all be standard, i.e. no boosted turbo cars, etc. Specials will be allowed to run, but will be labelled as such e.g. Brummie's and Craigs Cerbs for example. I'm thinking Tuscan/S, Sag, T350, Tam, Z06 Vette, 911 Turbo (993,996,997) and GT3, F355, F360, F430, Gallardo, Murcialago, Diablo, Viper, Esprit V8, Nobles, SL65AMG, M5, RS4 etc etc. Past masters such as F40, Lotus Carlton would also be warmly welcomed. The airfield is virgin territory for this type of event, no noise regs etc so Fezzas/TVRs can relax. However, having never done this I will need help, and the event will rely on us as Cerb owners inviting these cars along however we can, perhaps using PH as a forum. What do you think? Date will likely be July/August. If anyone has experience of organising such events, please chip in as I won't be able to do it alone. Please put the feelers out to any friends with such cars and gauge interest. It will be a none profit event, and entry costs will be minimal, just to cover insurance, ambulance, fire service etc.

Mmm... definitely interested. Is mine a "special" or just "as it should have been from new"?
I think a few of the Cerbs are allowed to cheat.

Although I would argue a properly mapped Cerb isnt necessarily modified, merely corrected from the factorys mistakes. By the same reasoning, when we stopped both our rear wheels pointing MASSIVELY to the right, in essence making it want to spin every time we floored it - we put the car back to how it should have been.

No Nige, yours is 'standard' in my opinion as its within the manufacturers quoted stats. Its also the car I'm most expecting to lead the way, no pressure or anything
The beauty of the 1 miler is the start is far less crucial than the 1/4, so its a much more definitive test. Just thought though, how will the 155mph limited cars cope?! Oh well, not my problem

Longbow, if you can give a date for this I'll happily start asking around the other forums for possible entrants... I tend to keep an eye on everything on this site, so I know whos running standard and who's had a play with thier cars.
Edit: Cuban (ex GCerb) should have his C6 Z06 by then too, worth saving a slot for if he can get it run in quick enough... I cant wait to dribble over it.

I'll get a date as soon as, and the Z06 is going to be one of my personal favourites, the one car I'd consider giving up the Cerb for..........
Mark, yes it used to be RAF a while ago, now the only RAF left is the Search and Rescue bird. If you have a vested interest in military hardware I can arrange to have a look round, if you let me know what sort of stuff you're interested. I'm in the REME, so we look after all of the Army's kit from Rovers right up to the AH64. We have no armour here though, its mainly the helos.

Yippee..!! Sounds fab. I'll definitely make every effort to be there. My diary is pretty flexible once May is out of the way. It'll be great to meet up with other Cerb owners as well as the other models of TVR and even other makes.
The local TVR crew might be interested and I have some friends with other makes. I'll see if they can be goaded into trying.
