finding a hill climb/sprint mini
Discussion
There are an awful lot of them not being driven at the moment, as the word has been put about that scrutineers will come down on cars not complying with the letter of the Blue Book Regs on body modifications: only two of the ten or more regulars were at Gurston last month, so there might be some bargains about if people decide to move on.
You'll need to do some work to get some of them back withing the regs, though.

Problems with those one piece fibreglass front ends in classes where you are only allowed to change the original material of the bonnet and boot perhaps?

Are they finally going to start enforcing the rules in sprints and hill climbs then? I used to run my 205 in the modified road car class to the letter of the regs, and thought it was stupid the stuff that some had done yet were still allowed to run ..... Doesn't mean they beat me though
Regs forbid any changes to the monococque, which for a Mini is pretty much the whole bodyshell, so flip fronts, plastic wings, holes in inner wings etc etc etc are all out.
The technical regs rely to a great degree on competitors lodging protests about cars they feel are illegal - if noone ever protests then things can get a bit out of hand.
Life is much simpler with a separate chassis.

Is it true that the person lodging the complaint has to pay a fee if the car is seen to be ok?
If you wish to protest you have to pay the fee set down in section O. If the protest is upheld you get your money back. Note: I think. I'd *always* check the book to be certain and I don't have a copy here.
saw this little beast earlier...
