For some reason those that do this event actually think they are racing. Would those who race agree that these billies upon entering this shite would be banned from holding an MSA licence ever again? May sound OTT but this "racing" chat does us no favours..

Trouble is, a lot of the people who take part in these 'rallies' can't be bothered to get a MSA licence and they probably think they're above it. Even if they did, they wouldn't ever race on a circuit because presumably it's not the same thrill as motorway driving in their supercar?

Really I think the whole thing should be dropped and forgotten about...the more people talk about it the more coverage Gumball is going to get the more people are going to scrutinise fast cars/rallies/racing/road touring events.

I also think that the more people talk about Gumball the willy wavers are going to want to enter more so they can brag about entering an event that killed 2 people.

Also I think that anyone that enjoys motorsport enough to apply for an MSA license and then follow through on actually getting it would rather spend their money on a proper race and even if they did enter Gumball I would hope they have a higher awareness of speed and its effects so would not join in the sillyness.

only just heard about the crash and the resultant death of a local driver, sure it has been done to death before. sad fact is the peopel that enter (at a cost of around £25K) can afford to pay off the local police, the fines and the car impound charges....

hope the driver gets a few years in a n eastern european jail....

Both the driver and the passenger died.

Why is it when you hear about these things that the driver of the car at error survives and an innocent by stander dies? Was a story in the local media the other day of a driver who crashed his car and killed the three passengers but he survived!
