Well done ExV8, thats a great time and you should be very proud. My wife ran her first half marathon in 2:12:xx. It took her 2 years to break 2:00, another 2 years for 1:50 and her best so far is a 1:43, so it shows what can be done with patience and training
Did another 6.8 miles this morning in 51 minutes, the furthest I have run in a couple of years and it felt quite good. I'm running every 2 days at the minute, but 4 runs this week for 24 miles in total. Feeling very pleased just to be out there running

37 miles of Gower on Saturday as part of the Endurance Life series. High hopes of another top 10 place after doing so relatively easily last month at the Suffolk event were dashed by a) the majority of the field behind the leading 20-odd cutting a corner of the course early on (and about 1.5 miles and a massive hill, and some doing it on the second lap too!), and b) some missing signage resulting in an extra 3 miles turning a 34 mile race into a 37 mile one, oh and c) the hills, d) the hills and e) the hills. Still finished in the top half though, despite doing 7 miles more than some.
Stunning scenery though and I take my hat off to the winner who got round in under 5 hours.

Nuts had to give up tonights run after 2.5 miles, think i've pulled calf muscle can't put weight on it.
After my last club run last weds it was really stiff so i rested it and stretched hoping a week off would sort it.
I've had a go at the calf stretch off the stairs but i can only lower my ankle down a tiny amount before my calf starts really kicking off.

Looking forward to the weekend as planning to run to the next town and more.
Another 'little' goal to achieve.
It's those little goals/achievements that I love about my long runs. Another 'little' goal to achieve.
I got a bus last summer (to a town I used to live in a few years ago) and ran back the 10 miles to where I live now..
My friends thought I was mad, but it made a change of scenery and felt like a great achievement to knock that distance out easily at the age of 42 when the thought of doing it in my twenties wouldn't have even been possible.

Anyone else running norwich half this weekend?
Looks like being a wet and windy affair, but still looking forward to it none the less.
Proper wet and flooded road race today with around 400m of muddy grass for good measure. Looks like being a wet and windy affair, but still looking forward to it none the less.
For the first time in 3 years of running had not one but 2 shoe laces come untied, both within 2km of each other at 6km in.
Finished in just over 1h 33, pleased with that and a 2 and half min improvement over last year.
Never been so wet in my life mind.
Went for a run this morning, probably went a bit too far tbh. Not had a run for a week or so (usually do 5 or 6 k) and went for 10k this morning. Did it in 52 mins, joints are a bit sore, especially hips. Think I might've been running "from the knees" a bit towards the end. Still - the furthest I've ran in one go before so a wee achievement, hopefully not too stiff in the morning!
