Pistonfest Saturday Convoy

OK here we go...I know there are some of us going on Saturday and there doesn't seem to be a Saturday convoy thread so I thought I would start one.

So for those that want to convoy on Saturday and get the Pistonfest weekend off to a great start with a rumble to Snetterton then add your name to the list below.

We also need to decide on a meeting point, the Friday convoy are meeting at LFE which is a little north for me but OK if it's the easiest for the majority. Maybe Watford Gap or Rothersthorpe on M1 and then J15 A45 round Northampton to A14 - traffic can be a problem around Northampton but Saturday might be OK - any Northampton people here who can enlighten?

Thought about the Brampton Hut services where the A14 meets the A1? The only problem with Brampton Hut is almost halfway to Snetterton so almost defeats the point of a convoy If anyone else can suggest a better meet point then that would be great. Somewhere along the A14 would be good but can't think of anywhere apart from the Tesco car park off the A14 at Kettering? Am happy to go with the most popular suggestion.

Coming from Kenilworth so will be M42, M6 then A14?

I'll be coming from Stratford end of A46, over Longbridge Island, then leave A46 onto A45 round Coventry to M6 then A14. Kenilworth is more or less on the A46, wouldn't it be a long way round for you to go on the M42 to get to the M6?

What time you planning to set off Ali?

There doesn't seem to be much of an appetite for a Saturday convoy so far so it might just be us two

Not a clue What time do you suggest.

Mrs Trackside is a Saturday traveller too We could meet @ Kettering??

As are some of the SAS lot - I've suggested an A11/A14 meet

I haven't given any thought to travel as yet. In fact I haven't even bought my ticket yet. I will more than likely be going on Saturday though, so would be up for meeting you for a convoy. I'll have to consult a map to see where I could meet you as I didn't travel direct from Nottingham last year.

My geography sense tells me that going down the M1 to meet you guys will be going out of my way. I shall have to have a think. I may very well end up joining Al (the only problem with that being my ability to keep up with the pace).

shouldn't be any problem going on the A45 around Northampton on a saturday

How about 11.30 a.m. off the A14 at the Tesco carpark in Kettering? If you want I could meet you at Kenilworth at say 10.45 and you can follow me on to Kettering? I could meet you at the petrol station on the roundabout before you go into Kenilworth from the A46? I think it's a Jet station?

Hi Emma - Al's not going (if at all) until Sunday. Depending on where you are in Nottingham your best bet would be either M1 to A14 at Catthorpe and meet us at Kettering or A1 to A14 Brampton Hut services and meet us there

rather than Kettering, how about the services at Thrapston? We'd be coming on the A45, and that services is where the A45 meets the A14

As MissDiane has already said, the Lupo can be a support vehicle, so if anyone needs some space to transport stuff there on Saturday - shout

I'm coming home on Sunday tho - still a bit much for me to cope with - tbh I'm chuffed to bits I'm making it at all

OK Matt...not been to Thrapston services but as it will be right on the A14 then I assume it will be a bit easier to find? How about 11.30 a.m. at A14 Thrapston services then?
