That's the celebration for Blair actually managing to pull his right index finger out of his arse....only it was a little late in the day. 'Britain gives thanks'... now f*ck off and make someone else some promises you're not going to keep.

and you can see he's in the process of replacing his right finger with his left...see his left arm swinging back there?

I remember this from Silverstone:

There's another one I was trying to find from my days at Leyton House F1 - there was a picture in their reception area of a rather spectacular crash where the car was photographed upside down but after Googling for whole minutes I can't find it.

Unless my memory is playing tricks on me but I think Mansell did that 2 years on the trot at Silverstone, I'm pretty sure Senna broke down twice and Mansell picked him up twice.

Would that would be either Ivan Capelli or Mauricio Geuglemin, (sp), in the Leyton House Judd, at the start of the 89 / 90 French GP at Paul Ricard?

edited to add.... It was the 90 French GP, it was Geuglemin. Capelli finished 2nd to Prost in his Ferrari, but nearly won the race. It was Leyton Houses best GP finish i think.

You're probably right. I worked there in 1990, so must have been 89/90. I couldn't remember if it was Capelli or Gugelmin.

Yeah, now you mention it, I think you might be right. I was only there for the first time. I seem to remember that Mansell got some grief from the team afterwards for allowing a competitor to see inside the car!

See above. Senna broke down and Mansell stopped to give him a lift back to the pits. Got a massive cheer from the spectators for it too, plus a big laugh.

It was the 1991 British Grand Prix. I was lucky enough to be there and see it. The crowd roared.

Second one especially captures the speed and commitment very well IMO - I guess a different angle on what the OP meant though.

Ah, you can see he has the people behind him. Still, he should shake them off after a couple of miles.

Not really capturing a moment (so far). More like "My favourite motorsports photo". Come on people, get some imagination!

Remember watching that as a wee boy. The same thing happened at Barcelona's Catalunya circuit in 2001, with DC giving team-mate Hakkinen a lift after the Finn broke down on the final lap whilst in the lead.

That was probably the most useful thing Coulthard did all season...
