anyone got suggestions on companies. I am awaiting call from MSN, but the quote from Footman James was C£1.1k. 35, 5 years ncb, 5,000miles, 9 points(!). MSN may be insisting on a Cat 1 or Tracker. Is this reasonable? Max insurance £50k

I haven't heard of any insurance companies that don't insist on a minimum of a Cat 1 immobiliser for years. The Tracker thing is becoming more and more common too.

Mine was 870 from Footman James. 28, 3000 miles, 0 points, Cat1.

This also includes breakdown cover too.

didn't tell them about Cat 1/tracker. I thought 35 was the step down?

Couldn't believe my renewal, was £700 last year, 35 Years old Max 3000 Miles and Agreed 50K Value (asked for 60K value but price doubled and had to go to head office for conformation, so 50K would cover parts.)

This year £645 actualy went down, makes a change. Perhaps they reduce it if you don't claim, had the same with my GT40, but must admit I thought Tuckshop Incident would have increased the price....

Happy but would preffer not to Insure it due to sale, and happy Bank Manager.

You'll need to have the pic hosted somewhere first. If you email it to me I'll put it up for you (and in my site gallery if you like)

Thanks Stig. I would like to say that it was all built by my own fair hands, but that would be lying! Arse from elbow springs to mind(!), but my thanks go to everyone who's offered suggestions and for Paul for helping to show me which way round the rivets go in!!!

I found MSN best, £595, 10,000 miles p/a age 21. Oh all right 44 (well it has to have some benefits).
