New Campsite found - still have spaces
Discussion
I've come across a campsite just south of Mulsanne that is taking bookings for LM weekend (no affiliation to myself). Just thought I'd share the info.
I've not used them before, and don't know much about them, other than they're €20 per person, per night, including English Breakfast. It's near Teloche http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=T
I'm hoping they'll still be within range of Radio Le Mans and that the shower and toilet facilities will be at least half decent.

Again - nothing to do with me - just thought it was a find worth sharing.

Alan and Kim are lovely people and you'll be well received there. They do a wicked breakfast too and if he asks you if perhaps you'd like a home brewed Perrier - watch out! They took over the running of the fishing lakes a year or so back and have really made a go of it. In fact Alan is back in the UK tomorrow to pick up his Fireblade. There is a shower block too.

Thought it was a Steve Cribb I booked it with? Or is he their person in the UK?Either way, it seemed like it might be a better bet than camping on-site as we normally do, based on anyone privately owning a campsite MUST keep the loos and showers in a more pleasant condition than at the circuit (especially by Sunday). Throw in breakfast and it's decision made.
To anyone put off by driving at the circuit - it is possible to get to, from and around the circuit over race weekend. Avoid Saturday morning if at all possible (unless you know the back roads through Arnage
), but otherwise, it's not too bad.Anyone unhappy with crap camping should consider this place next year.
Was spot on,all you could ask for.Great setting on a lake.Great people,food,beer.
Tranfers to and from the race were arranged throughout.
None of the hassle of being on circuit.
Its the future as far as I'm concered.See you there next year.

I'd also add that camping off site isn't as inconvenient as it might sound. With a bit of local knowledge and sat nav, it's not hard to get to the different parts of the circuit to watch the racing.
Also, as it's a smaller set-up, I suspect there was much less churning of the soggy ground than there was at the other sites.
My only comment is don't throw your torch into your tent at night 5 minutes before getting into it when camping under trees, next to a lake. This is something I got wrong on the first night...

Hi Guys, for those on here that stayed with us (WillDew, Crazy of Cookham, Nickster) ~ thanks very much for the positive comments. This year was very much a learning curve for me (never been to the LM 24!!) but of course I should have known that there was nought to fret about with Alan and Kim at the helm....very capable managers and a MASSIVE thanks to them for what turned out to be a great week/weekend. Our first LM24 catering in big numbers but all went well on the whole....barring a couple of problems with the Shuttle (sorry again to those affected) and the rented toilet shower block was stretched to its limit.
Next year? well onwards & upwards! we'll Simplify the Shuttle arrangements, improve the showers & loos and make a little improvement to some of the camping areas which were a bit wet (anybody notice any rain??).
To answer the earlier question ? RLM...no problem ....paddling - not in the lake thanks! the Catfish will eat you !! Modest pools should be OK for decent sized groups - ask me when booking. PS don't bother filling the pool...the rain'll do that for ya! hee hee.
Thanks from me and all the staff/helpers ~ we had a blast
Steve.

Our group has used Le Bounty a number of times and we wouldn't suggest using it at all - it's really bad - lots of things that bite, and very poor facilities.
No, we won't be there for the Classic Le mans, enjoying their food and beer, so I really suggest you find another camp site that is not so bad...
It's amazing how such a poor site can try to promote itself in this way!

To be fair Eugene, that was before and this is now. They've built more toilet and shower facilities and rented two blocks as well this year so toilet, washing and shower facilities will be much improved. They are covering part of the parking to improve and make bigger camping facilities, they've got impressive new bbq's in stainless, and I think it will be heaps better than last year. It is under new management now, the restaurant facilities and bar have been completely redone and when I was there last weekend it was already mostly finished except for the extra camping space. Knowing the old people, Alan & Kim, I think they were to some degree out of their depth which led to problems. As regards things that bite, well, I've found that applies wherever I've camped! I'll keep an eye on things (I live five miles away) and if it isn't as they promote I'll let you know but frankly I'm impressed with what they have already achieved.
Eugene7 I am somewhat taken back in you say you have used Le Bounty a number of times as last year was the 1st year Bounty took in campers and only for 2 events the Motor GP (about 30 guests) and the 24 hours (about 70 guests).
Anyway, as lowdrag has already said we have new managers Paul & Babs and new facilities including showers, washbasins and toilets all housed in new log cabins alongside the main building and open 24 hours with constant hot water, together with 2 rented units providing 4 extra showers and 4 toilets. Inside the main building is a shower, washbasins and toilets for the ladies.
EDIT
Forgot to add we also have Wifi
