just curious as to others feedback on the AMV8/ Porsche 997T/ F430 drive experiences @ thruxton. still got a christmas present to use and guess, for the 3 lap drive, i wanna go for the car i can get the hang of the quickest; maybe the Porsche (could be shouted at as i'm normally an american muscle car follower - non at Thruxton )?

As much as I would never want to drive one on the road (oh well maybe i would! laugh) it'd have to be the F430 for the noise!

OK. Depends what you want from the day.

You can go for two things:

1) Enjoying the experience of a performance car you don't normally drive. Porsche/Ferrari etc.

or

2) As many laps of Thruxton as you can get in an attempt to drive the circuit to the best of your ability.

There is a place for (1) if you are interested in their cars. Personally I prefer (2). If (2) is your bag then you should choose the MX5 experience as you get 14 laps for your money. That's enough laps to start to get the hang of it.

tks for the advice - another slant on your (2): perhaps i might try the Formula Renault - maybe not 14 laps, just 5, but in addition to the previous 3 in the cayman too. would like to have a go at controlling a much more powerful RWD beast (than my Tiger tho!
