I just watched Dery v Southampton second leg, and I thought it was great. I know it's painful to lose, but as an impartial (Palace) fan, it was a superb evening. We've been involved a few times over the past few years, and I have to say I enjoyed it every time, even losing to Steve Cl*ridge's poxy effort v Leicester in the final. Always a great day out for the fans, superb telly too.

Looking forward to the final, regardless who wins the Wolves/WBA semi.

Great stuff. clap bounce beer beer

As a Watford fan, I wouldn't say you were 'involved' last year

I do also love the playoffs (we have a good recent record in them hehe), the tension is incredible - and as per above makes a great spectacle for the neutral!

I don't think there's a bigger game in football then the Championship playoff final - one match worth so many millions!

Get used to it - the press don't give 2 hoots about the smaller clubs.

In the write ups for the premiership games, they will never mention how well Derby play or any Derby moves which deserve mentioning (if you go up...). It will be all about Rooney new deal this, or Lampard itchy toe that. Sorry

Of course they don't cover the smaller clubs. Murdoch's empire has to try and keep interest up in the Premiership that they have paid through the nose for. The truth is, the Prem has been a bit boring this year and they are having to throw coverage at it to keep the burberry wearers paying for their Sky dishes.

Cynical I know, but I happened to pick up a discarded copy of the Sun at work on Monday and there wasn't the slightest mention of the Wolves-West Brom game the day before. Pages and pages of Premiership coverage, but not even a mention of the result! FFS rolleyes

Whilst delighted that Derby have consigned "them" to another season in the fizzy-league, what I don't follow is why the ties don't use the away-goals rule. Derby scored less goals away from home that the other team, but the game went to penalties at the end of extra-time.

I though the away-goals rule was a UEFA standard?
