STOLEN! JAG XK120
Discussion
1951 JAGUAR XK120 ROADSTER
REG No: NVS532
CHASSIS No: 671785
White bodywork with red leather interior, chrome wire wheels with white wall tyres, wing mirrors, mascot, luggage rack, twin competition exhausts, number plate now on wing.
Car taken around five days ago from private premises at Colden Common, near Southampton, whilst owner was away. Believed to be still in the Southampton area but please be on the alert for this nationwide. Bright red Pajero seen in the area acting suspiciously. There is a substantial reward offered for information leading to the recovery of this car.
P.S: This is not my car, but has been highlighted on another forum I'm a member of. Please spread this to further forums, Cheers.

Thanks for the extra information, I've posted this onto www.jag-lovers.org
One suggestion on there was to suggest to the owner that he provides more details on xkdata.com, this is a website trying to catalogue all the surviving XKs. There are sister sites for other ranges of classic Jags.
A full set of "numbers" would help if any of the parts come up on the market.
If any of your contacts are able to get the owner to do this, it might help.
Cheers

What numbers specifically would you like?

Under the bonnect there is a plaque that gives some lubrication info, on here you will find the Chassis number, Engine Number, Body Number and Gearbox number. An engine without a number that indicates it started life on a XK120 is worth a lot less than an engine with a proper XK120 issue number.
Of course if the car has had any of these parts changed then it would be the numbers of the actual parts that would be interesting.
If you look at www.xkdata.com you'll see a repressention of the plaque with the numbers on for each of the listed cars. This car is listed, but doesn't have many details.
Cheers
