Hi All

Has anyone purchased the exhaust with cats from the factory?

If so, what kind of motor are you using?

TIA
I know,I know, you are all asking why?. Local Emissions regs to get it registered (in Australia)

Doesnt matter how old the engine (block) is, the engine must meet current emission regs when the car is first registered.

Sounds like you'll be going for one of those more modern engine options then.

I believe that the factory supply cats for the "standard" SBC. I'd assume that they could provide you with something that would fit whatever you decide to fit in yours.

Sure am!

Ls6.

Easy to get it passed (emissions wise), pretty good power stock (405 hp), and a good base to start looking for more hp!

I am in the same boat you are. I went with an LS1 and I am going to have to get some custom headers made up. The factory told me their setup would not work. It may be possible to modify the factory headers to fit.

The factory doesn't make any exhaust parts for the LS1/6. And the normal SBC stuff doesn't work due to the different port locations etc. I tried for months to get the stuff from the bloke who fitted LS1's in California.
Guy Beddington in Australia has full systems with Cats available for LS1/LS6 also has carbon ram airbox. His email is: guy@blueheelerbeds.com
I made my own headers with flanges from GM ($18ea) and mandrel bends ($75) and collectors from Schoenfeld ($20). Stainless steel fully welded and polished 3" IO mufflers from Summit Racing ($68 ea). No stinking Cats on my car. Fiberglass kit cars in Illinois don't require cats, heat could burn the car up you know. (don't tell them corvettes have em)

Thanks to all for the info!

Jeff,

Do you know if Guy has the parts available for sale or has he just made the parts for his own car?

BTW, when are you going to hit the drag strip next?
