Guys, I am involved in a IT Solutions Partnership. We are working at clients premises on IT solutions. We realise that we need to have liability insurance. We have obtained a few quotes for varying amounts of cover. Anyone have any wisdom as to how much we should cover ourselves for and what would be a reasonbale premium.

We have £2M worth it costs use about £1400 per year. However that is part of a general policy which covers our building, IT stuff, employers liabilities (to £10M) etc.

It is with NIG

The amounts in davidd are a good starting point but the premium will vary widely depending on location, nos of employees, amount of equipment etc.

FYI I pay about £700 for a two man IT solutions company, with £2m public liability/£10 million employee, with equipment insured at three different addresses (including customer equipment) - email me offline if you want details of the broker

Don't keep the details to yourself, I've just taken on a short term contract and require Business Indemnity Insurance, preferrably with as little form filling as possible (14 hour days doesn't really leave much time for it).
