I test drove one and was pretty impressed.

Yes, the 1.9JTD is the same as the one in the Alfa GT - they offer it in a few different power outputs, which afaik is just down to mapping.

I got rid of the gt simply because it was full of problems Clutch, electrical etc but the dealer was the main gripe miles away and shi-te.
Punto feels smart, the ride a bit choppy and the steering is lifeless but it really is a massive improvement handling wise compared to the gt.
Anyone know where i can get a remap done in teeside it really could do with some more go?
Some people are claiming figures of 160bhp upwards?

Yes i'm impressed i have a good history with sporting fiats and this one really does rank at the top of the pile.
I'm sure the engine will loosen up given time but i feel the car really could handle a lot more bhp.
This car feels as solid as my CLS at 125mph.Im so glad that Fiat are now building great little cars again and for the 10.5k i paid it really is a bargain
