I am new to the TVR scene, have bought myself a tasmin 200 DHC, brill fun. I am told there were 49 made some hard top. anyone know the title of the book which lists the engine/chassis numbers? mine was made at start of 82 when they first came out of the factory. I want to find out what 'number of the line' it was.

Read the chassis plate on the LH inner wing! It tells you the chassis number...
the bok I have is by Graham Robson - TVRs Vol. 2 is the one you mean I think. It says here...

Tasmin 200
1981 1 built
1982 9 "
1983 5 "
1984 1 "

The chassis number will be DH (for drophead) or FH (fixed head), a 5, then 3 digits that tell you the chassis number, then 2L for Ford 2-Litre.

There weren't many 200s built. Definately less than 100. 49 could well be correct. I'll dig out the numbers when I get a minute.

Yes, I thought that the figures were higher than the 16 in Ians list. Derek, welcome to TVR ownership. I've owned a DH Taz 200 for the last 12 years. Drop me a note if you need any help/ info. There aren't many things left on the car that I haven't replaced or fixed!! The power is a little lacking but there are plenty of mods for the Pinto engine.....if you feel the need.

Elsewhere on PH it says "In total 16 only coupes and 45 convertibles were made."

Doh... quite right, I completely missed the DH cars! Right then:

7 in 1981
19 1982
13 1983
6 1984

Due credit to Graham Robson for the source...
