for any classic and sports car enthusiasts in the area this might be worth a look!
this event is going to be held at Buckden Marina leisure park this coming sunday (3rd of June) either in the main paddock or in/around the parking area out the front of the health club/bar. it all kicks off at eleven with the cars (all sorts of classics plus a couple of more modern cars) going for a run around the area and then they will all reassemble at the club at about 12:30. theres going to be a marquee, BBQ etc and the lock & quay bar will be open for drinks/snacks etc. hope this is of interest to some as it looks like it should be a nice day out!

where abouts are you headed? might have to come and say hello (if you don't mind that is!)

Sorry James it's not just a social visit we're stuffing our quarterly magazine and other stuff into envelopes and sticking on labels and stamps then at the end wondering why we have stamps, envelopes, labels magazines or other stuff left over

Oh, of course, now I remember also sending out Kimbolton raffle tickets

One of those unseen and unspoken jobs that go on in all voluntry clubs

Got to Buckden Marina at 11:15 today. no sign of any classic cars so went for a drive on my own. Was it cancelled or was I simply too late?

well that wasn't a bad little display at all! according to the organiser they were a bit down on numbers compared to last year, but there were around 12-15 cars from the Sunbeam club including a stunning 1912 model nicknamed "the mistress", several 1920's/30's models a beautiful 1950 Healey and even an MX-5 and a 1940's flatbed lorry! and there were a few others that had turned up during the day at its peak this afternoon too.
must say cheers to the very nice chap with the Westfield Megablade who i had a chat with, F328GTS for turning up there for the second day in a row! was good to catch up with you again Nigel! the 328 looked/sounded magnificent as always and generated quite a bit of admiration from some of the other people there, sorry it wasn't a bit bigger, but its always great to see these cars being used/displayed as intended! and a big thanks to Graham and Carol for showing up in their TVR 350i and for taking me for a spin in it! thumbup
time to countdown the days to Kimbolton now!

Everytime I bump into a 308 I wonder how a big guy like Magnum PI fits . . . they are quite small.

yes, it took me a while to get comfortable when i went for a spin in Nigel's 328 a few years ago! certainly not the most comfortable experience for taller drivers/passengers! still great little cars though IMO
