Hi dudes, anyone fancy comming for some camping near the sea? Thought i would post it up and see if anyone is interested.

I have reserved spaces for 30 people near Studland beach in Dorset. Campsite is here http://www.burnbake.com/ A secluded opening in the woods - i have been before and it was most agreable. We have the option of more spaces if we need. The idea is to stay for the weekend however if the weather is good people are welcome to stay longer. Main plan is to have lots of beer on a night and spend all day on the beach eating ice-cream, we will also probably have a beach party. Oh yea and of couse lots of BBQ's. The plan is a sunday hoon and meal out (although my car is broken)

The cost is £7.50 per night per tent and a person plus £2.50 for each extra person

Along with a number of other mates the Pistonheaders already going so far is:
tomtvr
andymaserati
minimax
markmullen
davesk

That brings the total to around 15 or so - so plenty of space left.

I am also organising this via Facebook so if people are members on there they can see more details at http://uclan.facebook.com/event.php?eid=2367084807

After being soaked at Pistonfest I am looking forward to some nice weather - this is supposed to be one of the hottest summers on record so it has to start at some point. Also it is a great part of the world and one of the nicest beaches in the country.

Anyone facy it?

Ah, the famous "burn / bake" campsite - not a recommendation for anyone who get sunburnt!

Seriously, though, we stayed there last year and its a good place (well, as campsites go).

Can I book as a "provisional" - depends on work commitments / can the neighbour feed the cats etc etc.

An update on the spaces left would be good as I could probably bring a few others along.

How do you feel about kids (I know - great but I couldn't eat a whole one). Is this an adult racous event or are families welcome too?

Cheers,

Dave

Plenty of space left so by all means invite people - more the merrier, dont see any reason not to bring kids smile

Tomtvr,

Still looking good. Should be able to confirm on Monday at the latest. Have they resurfaced the "roads" on the campsite recently, as if not I don't see the Lotus making it across without leaving a trail of bits behind it!

TomTVR,

She that must be obeyed has said OK, so we're booking two sites for Sat/ Sun. Please tell me the "roads" are OK or we'll be taking the "oil tanker" (Saab 9000 auto) instead of the Elise. Oh, two youngsters(12?? and 15??) in tow.

Great news Dave! I last went to the site in 2005 so you will probably remember the roads better than me. What i will say is that if you remember there is a field at each side of the road as you are driving to the main part of the site - those are the event fields so you wouldnt need to drive the full length. Minimax will be bringing his elise also so i would suggest it will be ok but i would leave it up to you! Though it would bring to total to 3 lotus's which would be cool
