gearbox for rv8 powered tr7

anyone ever fitted the r380 gearbox from land rover to a rv8 engine just wondered if it helped with acceleration.
also does anyone know where to get straight cut cogs for the lt77 gearbox

Mine runs a recon LT77, to be honest they're carp & I wish I'd fitted a T5. Even recon mine isn't brilliant. R380's aren't cheap either so a T5 makes more financial sense.
If you really must have a word with RPI over in Norwich as they sold some ff & knew about fitting it.

regarding the T5 box, i wonder if the bell housing off a LT77 will modify and fit?
to be honest the LT77 box i have is okay, but i am looking for better ratios and stronger cos' its for a 3.9 track car.

Mick Richards had his lt77 rebuilt by Ken Tomlinson who I think was the designer of that box. It held up to the task admirably and set a fair few records in the process. he rebuilds most of the race boxes.
