Thepickle - nice phot of my car. There were quite a few people photting it as they'd not seen the new GT3 until mine.

Few random pics HERE. It was too hot and too many people for getting loads of pics really! I thought the Scuderia Italia display was good, some interesting stuff there, especially liked the yellow Iso Griffo on Sat.

The paint on that E30 M3 ^^^ looked flawless, the BMW Club had some nice stuff didn’t they, what about that supercharged M3 CSL?....520bhp! And the yellow/lime 70’s CSL (I think, only there Sun iirc?), was like new!

Something could be wrong there I think as according to DVLA that number plate is registered to a 1987 Porsche 924S.

That's because it is a Porsche 924S!!
It was on the replica Ferrari Club stand where alot of Ferrari look-a-likes were MR2's. That one in question had been coverted from a 924S.

Does anyone know who owns that white 944turbo se seen through the spoiler? It's identical to mine.

And just for pedantry - 1987 924? Wrong date or wrong designation. 924 was long gone by that date so could it be a 944?

Great idea though. Anyone know where the kit came from - the idea of a Ferrari that's actually a Porsche really tickles me - kit car insurance that'll be a hoot to drive every day. What an ace commute that'd be biggrin

Dave - I can find out for you bout the white 944T as i'm in the club - that was my spoiler the photo was taken thro!!

And to correct your pedanticness wink it was mentioned the car was based on a 924S not a 924. The S model 924's were built up to 1987.

Apologies all round - I thought the 944 was the 924 replacement and that came along years earlier. Whoops.

Apart from having one of the above quotes mistakenly atributed to myself I think it's all cleared up.

and the quotes are getting all jumbled!

I'm in TIPEC (The Independent Porsche Enthusiasts Club).
There are regions in NW England (monthly meets just off M61 J8 first Monday of month) and Cheshire & Staffs (2 miles from M6 J19 third Monday of month).
Lots of knowledgeable 944 owners (i've had 2).
Here's our website http://www.tipec.net/

I was there on sunday. I had planned to take my cinquecento abarth on the SFC stand, but had to work so went in my taxi between airport runs to manchester.A tremendous turn out of a huge variety of cars, some I'd never seen before.
