How much does anti-lag cost to install?

Does anyone know how much? Also, do you then have to deal with lots of heat issues if your existing cooling isn't sorted?

Depends how far you want to go with it, most aftermarket ECU's will run Anti-lag stratagies..

But it does have a rep for killing turbos

"bang-bang" anti lag keeps the turbo spinning by allowing combustion to occur in the manifold & turbo. This means even though the engine speed is dropping, there turbo is kept spinning very fast. Unsurprisingly this is not what turbos were designed for...

Not only does it make a LOT of heat, it can overspin your turbo.

I run it on my Evo 9, and I also ran it on my old Evo 6 with no ill-effect. The trick is to use it only for a few seconds at a time.

You can't just fit anti-lag. You have to have a complete aftermarket ECU fitted instead. For both cars I chose the MoTeC M800.

For road cars you only have it set up very mildly. An aggressive setup will eventually do damage, but for this yo would have to have a throttle kicker. Don't bother on the road.

Personally I LOVE anti-lag. The noise is just something else.

...oh but back to your original question, the MoTeC M800 cost £2,600 supplied, fitted, and mapped to around 400bhp.

You could also look at cheaper systems like Autronic or Gems - both of which have anti-lag and launch control facilities.
