I had one for a week around Christmas time whilst my XJR was being repaired and I was very impressed too. I'm torn now, my 2000 XJR is due to change this summer and my heart says have another X350 XJR but my brain is making a very good case for an XJ diesel. I just think I'd miss the out and out hooligan element of the R, but 20000 miles a year at 18mpg is the sacrifice I make for the performance. What to do what to do.

What you want is a diesel with the new autologic remap - gives 'R' type performance with diesel mpg thumbup

I had thought about getting a diesel and then getting it chipped, what are the reliability and insurance consequences though? The thought of a diesel that can return a reasonable mpg and have the grunt of the XJR is very very tempting

These twin turbo diesel Jags are very, very tuneable.

Huge increases in Torque are achievable, and around 45-50bhp, with the power coming in nice and early. A real wolf in sheep’s clothing.

In addition customers tell us an extra 4mpg is also a pleasant side effect of our remap.

Takes no more than an hour with before and after dyno runs

Ok Paramount your really starting to persuade me to move from my XJR to a TDVi and come pay you a visit. I have another 2 months warranty left on my XJR so I'll run it until the warranty is up and then make my decision. The diesel really is starting to look favourite though.

Make sure that if you do go with the TDVI that you make sure it has had all the service actions checked out on it, because there is one that has to have the turbo's changed as the actuators are not working correctly. Other than that the cars are quite quick and very reliable.
