Hi everyone, I have had 2 5's over the years a 1.8 brg and 10th anni now the missus wants one as a summer play thing shes seen an gltd auto but havin never driven a 5 auto can someone tell me what they are like to live with , are autos as much fun as manuals .

Autos are never as much fun as manuals. Its a fundamental fact of life.

They have less gears, are heavier, have a less powerful engine (tuned for less power and more torque to keep the auto box happy) and don't have a gear-stick.
However, if it has to be an auto I know some people who have them and are happy.
If you have the choice of manual or auto then go for a manual. If it has to be auto due to medical problems then go for it.
