So, what happened, who was there and who broke their cars / took it home in a bucket ?

Would have come along, but Forrestburn duties called in preparation for next week.

Colin Graham's ZZR1100 expired on the line for his first timed run.
Looks to me like a stone went into No2 carb with the result that the inlet valves met the piston.
Wrecked head and piston - ouch (PS - did you sell the ZX10 motor??????)

Broomsticklady's Ginetta broke an engine mount and ate a couple of starter motors.

Willie Beaton's Westie had a coming together with the barriers after "Oak Tree" and Steven Murray did somethin similar with his Westfield.

Gary Dickson beat the 1994 Mod Sports record with a 44 second run.
John Stevenson also took a huge chunk out of Grme Bremner's Over 1800cc Road Saloons record with a 45 second run.

Graeme Wight Jnr's Predator had a few electrical gremlins which prevented him taking both top-twelve run offs.
He did manage his two timed runs.
I have posted a video here:

Garry Dickson took his class record today - a record that has stood since the mid '90s - as did John Stevenson (actually, John smashed his record buy a BIG margin).

Wullie Beaton and Steven Murray both fought with the barriers on Sunday morning and lost. Stewart Robb Jnr did 40.3, which urged the Old Man on to a time that was sub-40 seconds for the first time (39.83).

Jonathan Rarity did a 40.something today, which we think might be the best ever by a bike-engined car.

Graeme White Jnr did 37.99 yesterday in practice but had problems today with the Predator's electrical 'brains' - he missed the first run-off as the beast would not run right and, although qualified third again, did not attempt the 2nd one - which was a bit rough on Wallace Menzies as he was 13th qualifier for the second shot.

Steve Marr did a 46 and looked chuffed to bits. Oh, and I nearly forgot - it was dry and sunny today!

Meant to add that Mike Jolly lost his 'virginity' over the weekend, and was last seen with a grin the size of the Forth Bridge, looking at car adverts on the Internet.

Now - if we could capture that, everyone would want to do speed events!

Aye well done Fergus.

I read about a few car/barrier interfaces but nothing of the drivers - I hope that means they are all fine.

Hi Nina good to meet you and G4A & your adjacent competitor in the Fury. Wish I'd spent longer chatting to him he seemed very helpful and ingenious with his work. A great interest in kit cars as I have too.
Wish I'd taken a better look at the Broomstick Truck too that seemed quite a neat conversion.
Should have spent more time at Doune, but was a bit preoccupied with the little event earlier, bits of plastic are expensive (£300).
May have to miss out on a few events as when I got home wife was ready to get a rope out around the tree, any later and she might have been hanging there, as little lad had been a bit fractious. Probably his teeth but I am saying it's cos he missed his Dad!. Two days away and I dread to think.....
I am going to sort through old photos of Doune to see if there is a G21, definitely have Clan pics for your neighbour.

Likewise to meet you John! Drew Murray is a great guy and his Clan is a marvel of engineering - you'd like it!! There is / was until recently another clan in the hands of Rod Manson near Aberdeen but I've not seen that for a while. He's at most events so you'll see him again if you can get another day pass! Hopefully you might see the Broomstick in action rather than sulking in his trailer having eaten his way thru Stirling's supply of XR3i starter motors...

An expensive Fathers Day with the Triumph damage - I was sorry to hear that - maybe you could convince her indoors that the mini might be a safer cheaper bet for future escapades - tho I wouldn't have had the pleasure of the leathers ... the one thing I'll miss when the Harley goes, sad girl that I am!!

Wouldn't need persuading she hates the bike. Was just thinking it would give the bike a good run out for the first time in 3 years and would be quicker & CHEAPER than bringing the old mini...

- tho I wouldn't have had the pleasure of the leathers ...
?? Fat guy in leathers that belonged to a slim guy??

forgive my brain Tony - it's frazzled!! My pathetic excuse? There used to be a John Hall who raced a TVR who moved away and for some obscure reason since then every Hall I meet is a John ...

They fit the friend I bought them off, he was about 11 stone, I was about 11.5 stone but comfort eating chocolate digestives does nothing for the waistline ....13stone = busting out of the troosers and can't buckle the top.
Seefood diet - see food and eat it etc
Never an open packet of biscuits left in our house

Tony could you have a look through your photo collection to see if you have any of a black with gold roofed Mini Clubman around 1981 to 1988
Cheers Trevor

G21 was initially a yuk sand colour, then red. Didn't do any events in Englandshire with her, tho most of the Scottish hills since 1990.
