Er, ok it's not really a PH car, but my little 1.2 Corsa SXi runaround is 2 years old and needs a service. It's got 10k on the clock, and I'm only getting it sericed because I have to before I and it back to Vauxhall next month. I've booked it in at the dealer, who tells me it needs a major service. Anyone know if this is true? I thought it was 2 years/20k for the first service which I also thought WASN'T a major one?

Thanks in advance!

Mine had yearly services over 3 years from new, each one was a basic service, nothing ever needed changing (other than the usual brake pads/tyres/oil change) and it had 37k on the clock once I sold it on just prior to 4 years old.

The cost was always circa £200 for each service... It is 1 year or 20k miles for 1st service, then 2 years or 40k and so on...

I very much doubt this is true. It is normally 40,000 miles or 4 years (whichever comes first) for a major service which includes timing belt etc...

check your service book to see what needs doing on a 2 year service that didnt need doing on the 1st year service.

But if 40k comes before 4 years as it will, then a service is due...
