Does any one out there have a copy of the TVR dealer warranty policy including wear and tear cover.

I purchased one of these policies from the TVR Centre in May 2006. My Tamora engine June 2003 - 3.6 litre - 28,780 miles, let go a few weeks ago but the underwriter (Auto Protect) are refusing any liability on the grounds that the supplying dealer went bust in November 2006.

Having paid £1,400 for my warranty you can imagine how I feel.

Unfortunately I am missing a physical policy to refer to it`s terms and conditions. So if any one can supply a copy of one I would be very grateful.

Ian.

unless perhaps they did not get the money from the dealer,?

i wouldn't worry about that. they seem to fob you aff with any old flannel after first contact. you have to get onto them and demand an inspection, presumably at an 'approved' garage.

i ended up getting 75% of the damage for a top end agreed. i'm sure if i'd pushed harder or sought legal advice then i could have got more, but i just want the car back.

The contract is between you and Auto Protect, because don't forget you can buy these policies by yourself as a stand alone, don't let these barstewarts get away with it just treat it like any insurance policy.
good luck

I really can't stand Auto Protect. After a month of arguing with them over a warranty transfer I've just threatened legal action.

I have a scanned copy of the Terms and Conditions if you want me to email them let me know.

They truly are a bunch of thieving gits, anyway the contract is between you and them and can be utilised by another garage 100%, if they were paid then they are fobbing you off.

Guys sorry to be the the person who gives bad news but having read the contracts and discussing the point with Autoprotect all contracts under the TVR scheme are direct with the dealer and as such should the dealer go bust then so does the agreement with him much like ROVER when they went bust.

Challenge it.You paid 1400 for a insurance policy(not a new car warranty as in MGRover problems)and the TVR centre acting as agents as you can purchase now.Correct me if i'm wrong,a new car warranty basically covers everything barring consumerbles but i bet yours has exclusions?if so its a insurance.Check it out.
Cheers

M14EYC - Mike,

Thanks for your posting.

I`d be very grateful if you could mail me a copy of your TVR policy.

Insurance brokers / companies are now quite heavily regulated by the FSA and have a complaints procedure and an ombudsman type arrangement.

If someone could contact me with the full company details of autoprotect.I will show them where to find out all the details of the company and the details of all the senior people involved in the business.

If they do not take the situation seriously the FSA will be very interested.
