I have the opportunity to buy the first 135i coupe at my dealer. Based on the following info what do people think.

135i will be coupe only
November Delivery
£29,750

Not sure if it's in SE/Sport or just a standalone model like the 4.8 X5 was.

I'll bet it'll be SE/M Sport.

Go for M Sport + Adaptive Xenons, Auto Dimming Int+Ext Mirrors, Comfort Pack, Cruise Control, Logic 7, 6CD.

Was thinking of my current spec on the 120D

M Sport
Media Pack
Comfort Pack
Visibility Pack

I take it you want an honest opinion?

I think you could get the 135i and loose 10k in 6 months or you could buy a late E46 M3 or even CSl and suffer a lot less financial pain.

I reckon the 1 series coupe will loose money faster than Michael Jackson.

Well it has to be something I can do on lease purchase through the business. You could be right on the depreciation, if it hadn't have been for the Z4C being bought back by BMW GB that really would have cost me a fortune. Having said that I've lost £10k in 6 months on 2 Boxsters before now.

I'd say that not many people would be prepared to pay 30k for a 1 series, cracking engine or not, it's simply too much and I suspect you'd end up taking a bath! The whole point of the 1 series as I see it is to be a relatively cheap commuter type car or a car to get people on the BMW ladder, 30k means it needs to be alot more than that and I just don't think it is

Just been viewing some footage of the 1 Coupe driving on YouTube, and I'm actually warming to it. So I'd better start eating my words...

Some of the current crop of BMW's have taken a little time to grow on me, but I suspect that this one may take quite a while; it's pretty challenging!

on the basis you seem to change cars pretty often - have you thought about keeping one for more than a week?

Looks good. That car appears to be a mix of SE & M Sport, which makes me wonder if it will be a stand alone model as I said yesterday.

The press release said it was stand alone, with the M Sport kit as standard.

Ok well that's interesting. It all depends then on what the standard specification is like. It would be great if Leather and Metallic were standard like on the Z4C, but i'm guessing it is unlikely.

A year old Z4M Coupe is only £2k more with room for negotiation.
I know what I'd prefer and which is likley to have better residuals over the next few years.

It will be an M Sport as that is the only model for the 135i.

Residual's is anyones guess there not great on the 130i but this is a different model so who knows. It will be a great car to drive and alot of fun so if you are prepared for a worst case of handing the car back at the end of your select agreement then I'd say go for it

Can you buy it from me though biggrin

You miss the point I'm making.
Basically that 135 is expensive and not a good deal imo.

First and ONLY!! Youd have to be insane to spend 30k on one of these

But if the car is brought on a select deal with no or very little deposit then residuals aren't an issue!
