me and a few guys from the car club i used to be part of did this run. i organised it infact...
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (edit)Helmsley, we then worked our way round clockwise to kirbymoorside stopping on the tops a couple of times for photo's and to have goes at a hairpin on conveniently sited near the carpark. once at kirbymoorside we had fish an chips and a pint (the local boozer let us in on the provision we buy a pint).
for the trip home we decided to go back the way we came cos it was that fun!!!
nice open roads, we saw 3 cars all day and decent scenery!
- *warning the roads do have humps in so travling above the national speed limit in places may lead to the front bumper of low cars scraping the tarmac***

My only advice Mark, if you're organising a blat out is to keep the route to emails only
Giving a rough idea of the roads is fine, but BiB sometimes read this site (from what Ive been told) so its best if you get a list of those interested in attending, then email them with the designated route as we dont want any of ya's getting pulled, nicked or prosecuted

noted, id be happy to organise this if people were interested in doin it in august???
also the 5-0 sadly dont have anywhere to hide on the moors, visibility must be a good mile or so at worst, lol.also have another run out mapped which is on smoother roads with similar visability but some of the route is well used by traffic

I'll come out for a run in August, looks like Pug territory. When its (finally) on the road im setting you the task of some photos Scott, I'll buy you a grande biere
I do lots of hooning around N. Yorkshire, but always on my own, be nice to go out for a group run sometime and drive as opposed to pax riding with people all the time.
I have a map with lots of good roads all marked on, inlcuding a route of well over 100miles across the moors, to the coast and back round the top of Leeds.

Still no email reply Ricardo

You know me Snotters, I'll happily take photos, but I dont know how Gemini would react if I took photos while driving...I know its not a mobile phone, but still

If I ride shotgun, I'll take photos
If Im the pilot, I wont

lol, like i say people need not worry bout speeding so bobbys are welcome to come!, the straight bits are long enough but you will/we did end up airborne if you go too quick and at the end of the day its not worth it. the route is best enjoyed on a sunny day cruising on the straights and pushing on the bends.
ill start looking at dates. I will say its hard to organise the meet for any more than 10 cars without another person to help keep track of cars on the route and although id like to see some serious top end sports cars go honestly i think they'd struggle with the undulating road.(its more scooby/evo roads than ferrari/lambo) use the pic of the front of mine to see what kind of clearance you need.(guess about 200mm underneath and maybe 150mm on the front end) there's no pot holes atall but a couple of cattle grids and the surface is good generally width isnt a prob as all the roads have grass verges either side and the roads are wide enough for farm vehicles

If theres anything over 10 cars, ask someone in the middle or back of the pack to keep everyone in check??ill start looking at dates. Thats what some chappies do
Do me one favour Mark and see if you can highlight any points where I could stash my car and possibley get some photos of you going past without any problems as I might just do that
will do scott, there are a few places to do exactly that... also there's a long straight at the start of the "run propper" to film a rolling driveby of all the cars. ala top gear! that way you get to hear each one come past a full chat at a reasonable pace!
keep registering interest and ill get to work, will finalise date and time when i get back on the 4th august but i will say its gonna be a saturday in august at a reasonable hour. infact thats where all the cars were lined up in one of the pics!

could do with going on a wee reccy to see what we've got

you mean you cant wait to go have a play!!!

thats the carpark at the very top of the map. its right on a hairpin with lots of visibility both ways so what we did was pull up and take it in turns to have a driveby for those wanting to get some footage and for those wanting to show their cars off, mine stayed in the carpark, lol.
