Driving through London last week and hit an almighty pothole, made a huge cracking noise.
Anyways just been to the suspension shop to get my tracking checked, and bingo we found that on the rear anti-roll bar appliance the bracket that connects the drop link to the car had snapped in half.

I now need you guys to help me name this part and where I can get it from.
I have decided at the same time am gonna upgrade the drop links to SH versions.

Thanks
What a week...[sign]

I though it comes welded as part of the wishbone? If that is the case then you'll have to make one and get it welded on i guess?

Exactly Mike, I'd be tempted to replace the wishbones ahead of any droplinks.

Or do as I did and just remove the anti-roll bar (I ground off the failed bracketry from the affected wishbone, which was otherwise perfectly sound). They actually feel much nicer without the rear RB wink

Really, I thought the anti-RB increase stability at the rear end ?
Correct me if am wrong, but surely your car will feel a bit looser if you totally remove the Rear anti-RB?

Very sensible ~ you will not be worried if the fatigue has spread into the rest of wishbone that way....

That bracket is weak looking anyways, cant see why the fatigue would move into the tube part of the arm(the bracket is only welded between the tubes anyways)just get it buzzed up, its easy to put a penny washer over the hole top and bottom where its split to reinforce then buzz those too(much stronger) job done, and can be done in situsmokin obviously only if the wishbone is sound, failing that its as the others suggest a new un,providing that nut comes loose on that droplink(they can seize) thats about £30 quids worth by any competent welder.

OP If you speak to me tomorrow I sell the MK2 version of this bracket ready to be welded on to the wishbone ex-stock.
Adrian@
These were sold by the factory as part of the original upgrade kit to add a rear ARB to the car, The MK2 is a sronger unit and would normally be seen on all 1998 cars on.
