Probably not - the 390's had bigger driveshafts and larger UJ's than 350i's.

I got my 350i uprated and they never failed again.

I think they are uprated, but Im sure they would fit, and be a lot stronger.
don't take my work tho on them fitting.
you may want to look at the RTracing catalogue, as Im sure they are listed. may give an idea on the differance.

The UJ's may or may not be the same, as with many TVR's you may have one sort or the other depending on whats parts were available at time of build. There are only two sizes used though AFAIK.

I used to have a very late 350i as well but it was factory built with 400SE suspension components and driveshafts. This was due to it being inline to be supercharged (via Haughins) but this work was never carried out in the end.

Only way to know for sure would be to measure one, I think the yolk size is the critical part but i could be wrong....

I would take it down the factors if you can. Yoke and two caps and bearings.

RT racing catalogue show one as the same as the 400 and one the same as the 280.
If you want to mesure it I'm sure, somone with a 400 can do the same.

My 350i from '87 has the larger UJs, think it was an option at that time to have uprated stuff. So it could be that 350i stuff fits.
When remembering ok: the large ones have like >10cm across the yokes (outside measurement), and only 9cm when smaller. Perhaps it can help to see if it is the same.

The larger ones are Hardy Spicer HS179. Please dont be a cheapskate and get cheaper brands: theyre crap. HS are the only ones to buy.

So you do not have the heavy duty driveshafts? I am surprised as all 400s should have come standard with them.

Sorry can't help on part number as you need the dimensions in 1/10 of a milimetre accurate.

Link to catalogue I can give you:

http://www.hardyspicer.com.au/PDF_Files/Driveline/...

First read page 28 or so to know the right measurements (cap diameter and overall length. And important heavy duty/premium and grease nipple type), then measure and look up (not so easy as the list is endless).
Remark: think that gkn uses their own, internal part numbers but can be matched to the hardy spicer one.

Matthijs, the smaller 350i size is 27mm x 81.8mm , Hardy Spicer part HS163 (heavy duty with grease nipple) and the 400/450 size is 30.2mm x 106.3mm (not heavy duty - don't think the HD would fit - but with grease nipple) Hardy Spicer part HS179.
Dimensions are cap diameter and from one cap end to the opposite cap end.

7.
