If lonelystranger is in the Sin Bin, he'll be glad to stay there, as his lovechild is outpaced in first practice. The Beemers seem to be really getting into the mix, and Honda are finally firmly into the top 10 - but Friday practice is of course only Friday practice.

It will be interesting to see how Winkelhock gets on. I can't imagine him being much worse than the chap he's replacing.

Good show from Hamilton considering he's said to have been suffering from 'flu, but there are a few cars out of the expected order so as much as Honda appear to be doing OK (and they have generally practised at their qually pace this year), I'd expect Renault to be higher up tomorrow.

Since Davidson's Super Aguri has just gone 5th, 0.7s off Raikonnen I'd suggest their being a lot of different setups/fuel loads and tyres combinations being run.

Looks like normal service has resumed - Ferrari/McLaren leading the pack with Toyota BMW and Honda squabbling behind.
