Driving home this afternoon, sitting in stop start traffic when some numpty bumped into me! It doesn't look too bad, just a few scuffs, but I'm worried that there will be other unseen damage within the fibreglass. I'm going to get it into Fernhursts next week so they can check it out, but is it likely that this is going to be a serious issue?!?
Cheers.

Unlucky - I was actually the 'numpty' in a similar accident a few months ago and needed some front-end repairs. Fernies don't actually do any repairs themselves - they tend to send their bodywork stuff to Liphook Coachworks. Those guys do a lot of accident repairs and have experience of working with GRP. From what I've heard from other sources they tend to favour replace over repair - this was true of my experience with them as they said they would replace my bonnet when everyone else said they would repair it (apparently repair is usually better if possible as new body parts in GRP are never an exact fit so need to be sanded and shaped before fitting, meaning replace is often as much if not more work than repairing the original). Because of this their quote was the most expensive at an eye-watering £3500! Most other quotes I got were for less than £1500.
I see you live in London - me too. I decided to use BeeGee Coachcraft (http://www.beegeecoachcraft.co.uk/) for my work. Part of this was location (they're in New Malden) but mostly it was the advice given by Gary, the chap who runs the place. Don't be put off by the appearance of the place when you go for a quote. He keeps his overheads down by keeping his premises small but he used to do the majority of Gatwick TVR's bodywork repairs among others and has had other Chims in whenever I've been there. His work was also of a high standard - when he'd finished my car was much better than it was before my 'bump'.
Hope that helps,
James
