Guys,
Sorry for the extended absence from the forum, but for the last 15 months I've been working on this:

http://www.performancecar.co.nz
http://www.bruce-mclaren.com

I worked 105 hours last week, so I'm exhausted. Hope you guys enjoy it (bear in mind there are a few bugs)

If you wait a week or so, we'll have NZV8 and Classic Car up there.

Darren

Hi where are the cover boys for girls to perv at??
I guess thats the only reason why like minded people dont go to sites like Perf Car. I get plastered with t*ts in my face all the time. I realise females are out numbered 100/1 probably more (blessing you might say), but its one of the reasons I come here for a look instead, your on an even keel with everyone and feel as though you can blend in with out having to get the kit off to hang out with teenagers - LOL!! Actually even I recall the husband getting pissed off trying to look at nice cars in mags but the girls are naturally blocking the view. Just my 50 cents from the other side of the fence. smile

Don't worry. We'll be launching Classic Car soon, and I don't know that you'd want cover girls in Classic... smile

It's not just the womenfolk that get pissed off with that... I think girls (of the model variety, not of the owner/driver variety) have NO place in car mags... if I wanted to see tits and arse I'd buy a lad's mag like FHM/Ralph etc.

If you pick up and read a copy of NZ Performance Car you'll find that none of the articles have girls draped over cars. There's a cover girl interview (which doesn't usually include a car), there may be pictures of girls in event coverage shots, and some of the advertisers use models in their advertising, but NZPC stopped putting girls on cars years ago.

Maybe grab yourself a copy and check it out - it's probably a lot different to what you imagine.

Thanks Darren, I should have elaborated a bit more what exactly annoys me. Apart from birds draped over cars, its just as off putting trying to read a great article and the article next to it has young half naked kids which yes catches anyones eye and makes the overal presentation a little downgrading. Anyway if the target audience is for Male 16 - 25yrs I am happy to take my coat smile But as George said most guys dont want bintys in the way and prefer to get their fix from other mags wink But hey I appreciate all the afforts you guys put in to make the site work and actually getting a car mag out there. Cheers smile

Some of them do... and of course the posters in the middle of the mag often have the obligatory "bint draped over car" shot smile

I like the websites, they look great.

At 21 I think I may just be a little to old for the content part of “Performance car” though. I mean if I browse the forum the very first post I come across as I blindly open the thread starts with:
"Can any help or point me towards were i could find a rear spoiler for a 1996 mitsi mirage 2 door hatch"

Or perhaps you think I’m being harsh?

"wheres a good place to get tints? I want the best price and a good job done. Under $200"

Now does any one know where I can get one of those things that go across your windscreen and say things like “westside drifaz”, maybe some shiny wheels, a couple of those pads that go on seatbelts, a chap with an angle grinder for the springs, a set of truly vile seat covers to match my even worse steering wheel cover, bit of old guttering for the exhaust and a subwoofer that will slowly shake the car apart? Then I’ll go out pimping my hood in wikid stylez.

Well, posters are a whole different thing smile

I know when I was 15 I had a Lambo Countach on the wall with a scantily clad woman draped across it. Demographics don't change!!
