Which air filter should I go for? ...standard box not induction and what sort of return in power can I expect ....car is unmodded at present .

look at www.fensport.co.uk they do a good Blitz one for £26ish. You wont get much in the way of horsepower gains from a change in filter though. Disable the VSV, fit some boost control (bleed valve for a couple of quid to an EBC for several hundred) and turn the boost up to a bar (1.2 if your brave), that will net you rather more than you will achieve with a filter.

Using as day to day car so want to keep it as standard as poss. to improve the reliability stakes . Only going to change exhaust , wheels and air filter. Keep her relatively unmolested.

Mine is running a far few bits a bobs, and was my only car for 3 years. Totally reliably apart from the brake lines.

If you're running stock internals and stock turbos with the fuel cut still enabled, you'll struggle to blow it up.
