Saturday very wet. Sunday not so bad but at one point standing water. Pretty hellish actually! Fergus won A5 both days; Lenny took B4 in 52.something with Eric not far behind in second, again both days. Jim Kelly took A3. Les Mutch won A6 in new class record on Sunday, with Mike Jolly second sharing the V6 Dax. I was plumb last in B4 and had two embarrassing moments - lost my way on first Saturday practice and headed for Inverness on wrong runway (offers of sat nav kindly made by Lenny and Eric) and spun at an "inappropriate section" on Sunday. Car still running like a dog. Roy Dawson lit up the Gould on Sunday for new track record - 41.something. His telemetry said he hit 144mph at one point. Darren Law survived a big off in the OMS at the tyre chicane to get new class record (46.something)on his second run.
See you Fintray?

Two dry and two half dry runs all w/end. Great event though, the fast corners especially the last one are really something with bumps and surface changes, big thrills. I wish there were more events there. Gazebo, umbrella and overshoes all busted in one day, even had a hail storm.

Thanks to Annabelle, Brian and marshalls.

Glad you got two dry runs John! Every time I queued up for the start the rain gods seemed to decide to have another laugh. I agree about the organisation. Pretty good considering the conditions. Well done to all concerned, especially the chap who rescued me from being locked in a hangar full of Tornados on Saturday night when I went for a late "comfort break". My navigational skills would have been even further open to ridicule if that had happened!
Biggles.

I liked it at Lossie last year, good organisation, very welcoming people, and some good fast bits on track, just sorry I couldn't make it this year, not going to make Fintray or Golspie either, should make the final event at Alford though.

Shame you're missing Fintray and Golspie, Murray. I won't see you at Alford as I will be in Zanzibar. Take care.

Its good to see Les Mutch is getting on well with the Dax, shame he never got the record though, close but no cigar, also Mike Jolly who is new to this game is starting to get the hang of things, even though there seems to be Mutch Jolly happening in the evenings before.

I may be wrong about Les and Mike's car. It's on the results list as a Westfield, NOT a Dax, but I DO know it's a V6 and has an indecent amount of torque. Yes, Mike is on the pace already but will have to cultivate a much more impressive mouser if he is to rival the "wing commander" as MJ Engineering's Number One team driver!

It's a Rover Kv6 engine . . .

Its got a standard Rover 75 2.5 engine, about 200 bhp in at the moment, there tuned engine has a week link with the conrod shells. Its away getting a steel crank made, its got about 270bhp and still lots of torque. The car will fly when the tuned engine gets sorted.

That should be tasty and I look forward to seing the moustache at full tilt! You're right - I was wrong about the class record for Les, having just looked at the results on email. I thought the CoC said it was a new record at the prizegiving on Sunday but obviously I had a senior moment. Lenny Bray definitely got one in B4 with his Kwacker-engined F27 though.

GW - yes, it is black. Locost running an R1 injected engine with a turbo. Very much a work in progress and well off the pace (so far). Spacer plate and head skimmed to lower compression and revs still limited to under 9000. Can't keep revs up and all sorts of probs with cutting out going up the box. Apart from that, it's going splendidly!! Bigger injectors and various goodies coming soon. Bit frustrating to have been posting far quicker times two years ago in the old yellow Dutton with a 1740 Kent crossflow in it. Never mind - the joys of experimenting....

DEKE - You haven't posted a message, but I see from your profile you're having a spin in the F27 at Golspie. Lenny had better watch out, eh?! See you at Fintray on Sunday. Forecast's not brilliant, but then it never is nowadays.

Forecast isn't looking too bad at the moment for Saturday afternoon and even Sunday!:
