TVR 60th (not TVRCC 60th)

I have to say I'm discussed after finding out the following,,,

After finally getting the green card from the Mrs - having the first chance in a few yrs to go to main TVRCC event,,

I called the TVRCC office up to book a ticket for the Sunday's festivities only to find out that the tickets were £30 (per adult member) for a weekend pass.

I have since found out that you can now have a ticket for either the Saturday or Sunday but still have to pay the full amount!

I realise that money has gone into the planning of such an event, but feel outraged that there is no provision for members who can only make it one of the days!

I'm sure there was if you'd booked in advance. The fact that tickets are now available at the gate is a benefit to those who had not booked in time (albeit expensive) but also a bit of a slap round the chops for those who booked in advance and in effect got no discount for same.

Unfortunately I could not book Rockingham due to other commitments but over the last week these commitments have evaporated leaving me with time on Saturday and nowhere to go. I am really pleased that Classic and Sports car have made this mistake because now I can come biggrin I will be coming with my son in my Taimar on Saturday bounce

I can see the need to pre book an event like this.

I can also see that paying for a weekend and only getting a day looks expensive in principle, but where else in the world are you going to get another chance to witness TVRs 60th Anniversary. £30, not even the price of a tank full of piston juice and you don't even think about that cost when you fill up.

I totally agree with Daza, as a former member (and an active one at that!) for 12 years, I would have liked to taken my son to one of days, but it's just too much money as a spectator, especially when you add in the costs of fuel to get there and some food and other odds and sods.

Shame about this, personally I think that the TVRCC could have offered some more cost effective options. I would have been happy to book in advance as well.

So to all of you going, take loads of pictures and write a decent report here!!!
