The Joy of '6'

Mazda unleashes teaser shot of new '6' saloon

Front flanks look very RX-8 ish, no?

Mazda has released a wee teaser shot of the new Mazda 6 saloon that will be officially unveiled at September's Frankfurt Motor Show.

On sale next year, the new 6 gets a clamshell bonnet and the front grille gets more than a hint of RX-8. Overall, Mazda is aiming to create a more coupe-like aesthetic to give the car a more upmarket feel.

Based on Ford's new Mondeo platform, we're pretty certain the 6 will be a good steer. But we'll have to wait at least another year before the 256bhp all-wheel drive MPS offers us some real Zoom Zoom.

Reminds me more of the Nissan G35 actually rather than the RX8.
Still going to be another nice offering from Mazda none the less. The earlier Mazda 6 MPS was quite a nice car to drive actually.

So if this is the same platform as the new Mondeo why dont Ford offer the AWD package along with the Duratec Turbo motor? Modern day Sapphire Cosworth anyone?
I bet it would sell a crapload more in this country than the Mazda will.

Seems very wonky to me. Needs more tyre pressure on the left.

the front grille still needs toning down, mazda used to produce desirable cars, but now they seem content to churn out run of the mill stuff

bring back the rx-7
