Has any one tried these new heads yet? What are they like? All I've seen onpaper is that the inlet valves are larger than a stage 4 head at the expense of the exhaust valves. How do they flow compared to a worked set of OEM heads, cos at £1100 for a built up pair they look good value?

Iain

The web site ad says ..."exhaust ports raised slightly" almost like an afterthought. I thought that was the big story like the Wildcat heads scratchchin

I believe they're raised by 1/4" which might cause some folks trouble. I think it's to try and improve flow. If you look at say a set of Stage 4 heads a lot of folks open out the roof of the port tract as much as possible...maybe that's what's gone on here from the start?

As I understand it, your existing manifolds will fit both inlets and exhausts, with small bit of porting required on the inlets to get it to match up.
The exhausts are raised the 6.35mm which may mean that your manifolds will no longer meet the collector or downpipe on your remaining exhaust system. Which I'm sure can be remedied with a bit of metal work.

On the Griffmera it may need the stem of the 'Y' piece extending that 6.35mm, if it was me I wouldn't be too worried as I own several hammers and a blowtorch..... wink

Don't think it would even come to that on the Chimaera, headers and y piece all move up as one and the main exhaust has a new hole drilled in the bracket that mounts it to the block (for those who use it, I don't on the racer) job done. The big question is how do they flow compared to others. looking on other forum it appears that the heads are designed to give better manners at the bottom end (something Stage4 heads are apparently bad at) but still keep up the flow rate for the top end, but I'm yet to see back to back comparisons on a flow rig. I'm going to email Real Steel and see what they say.

Also when i phoned up about the real steel heads charles told me they are just fast road heads and not the race heads i was lead to belive they were developing over the last couple of years.
I eventually went for ultimate big valve heads (stage 4) and i think they work fine..
