When I got my S it had a S/S exhaust system, but it was very grubby and the pipes at the back didn't look anything special. However, with the use of a couple of kitchen products, I've got them looking lovely and shiny now...

First up, a wire wool type scourer used to remove stubborn dried-on food from dishes. I used this to remove the worst of the grime from the pipes and reveal the S/S finish with the aid of plain old cold water and elbow grease.

Secondly, stainless steel cleaner from *ahem* Kleeneze used to bring a brilliant shine to those grubby pans. Applied this to the pipes as per the instructions, rinsed off, and was left with a lovely shine.

I'll try and get round to posting some pics, but I thought I'd just share this domestic tip for any of you with grubby pipes. I'm sure that there's probably some proper S/S exhaust polish available from www.stainlesssteelexhaustpolish.com, but it undoubtedly costs 10 times as much!

Happy polishing!

You know you love your TVR when you end up polishing the exhaust.

Ah, yes.... I've just realised how sad a topic on exhaust polishing is! Oh well, I'm not proud! (and I've got shiny exhausts)

you know its time for the straight jacket when you polish the "inside" of the exhaust pipes!

Only as far down as my fingers would reach using good old Brasso

I've got short fingers, but managed that extra few inches with a 'rag' wrapped around the handle of a suitable sized screw driver......
