Is it just me or do most people who have owned a Tiv either recovered the money they paid for their car, or made money on it?

I owned a wedge in 97 and got the money back that I paid for it, and have recently sold my Griff and MADE money on it.

Err no.

I made money on my old 1600m.

I lost quite a lot on my Griff, however when you factor in the fact that I did lots of miles in it, ran it for 6 years (from new) then I did not do that badly.

I expect if I sold the cerbera next week I would at least break even, maybe make a few quid.

I think the rules are.

If you want to buy new then get the latest model (T350 at the mo) and sell it on in a reasonably short space of time.

Otherwise get one that is a couple of years old which has taken the bit depriciation hit.

As a matter of interest, flasher if you are reading this how did you fare with your tamora? Not interested in actual figures just if you lost anything (or much) on it. Just being nosey

Perhaps that's the case with used cars - if you take the plunge and buy brand new however, you're gonna lose a bunch of money for sure.

I actually made £1800 on my first TVR, an S3, which I kept for 5 months. But I more than made up for it by losing tons on two Griffs subsequently. Still, if I hadn't bought TVRs with the loot I'd probably have put it in the stockmarket and lost at least as much... if you're going to lose money the TVR route is more fun!
