hi my taimar has just passed its mot but i've been advised the light switch works only after a firm tap once or twice, so i've decided to replaced the five switches across the transmission infront of the gear stick, hazard, lights, washers, wipers & heated rear screen. So first problem where can i get the switches second what ampage are these switches rated at and being not familiar with the spaghetti that is tvr wiring are relays used. Any advise would greatly appreciated
I had the same problem with my Taimar so i look out each switch one at a time and marked up the wires and took the switches apart and cleaned up all the contacts with wet and dry, mine work like a treat and every time.
When i put then back togeather i used a little greas to stop them from failing again, worth a try before you shell out for new ones.

careful when lifting the centre console to get at them, when looking to see why the wipers and fan were not working on mine when it was lifted near all the switch wires came out, all cable tags missing, a mass of black wires some going nowhere, it kept me busy for a while. Cleaning the contacts on the fan switch worked but wiper switch was shot, managed to get a replacement at an autojumble but failing that i had found you can get a full set in the switches section at holden.co.uk - http://www.holden.co.uk/displayproducts.asp?sg=1&a...

Same thing happen on mine many years ago. I removed the ash tray, put in a small panel with a switches for side lights and dipped lights and a battery master switch.
Rewired all the lighting circuits with beefier cables (Well I was using 100/90 bulbs!) and put in relays.
That way all the original switches were left alone, the lighting one just did nothing (except confuse te MOT tester!)
