I picked up a crack right in the middle of the windscreen from a stone this morning. It is not that bad that I can't see out of it but is surely an MOT failure.

Also the bottom of the screen has become a bit milky, so could do with replacing anyway.

I am insured with PEART, has anyone any experiences getting a new windscreen with them? Do they allow you to choose a windscreen repairer and if so any recommendations.

never been insured with peart, but i can reccomend autoglass(gloucester) to fit the windscreen.they fitted mine on my old chim and did a perfect job.this included new trim peices as well.best of all the workmanship was gauranteed for life including against leaks!! all this still only cost me £50 excess, ncb not affected.i couldnt have been happier.i was told the main thing is to be sure that whoever you choose, make sure they use a genuine tvr screen for best fit.good luck-mv

my screen has also gone a little milky around the corners on the bottom end. Any ideas what causes this?

'They nearly all do that sir'. Water ingress causing delamination of the seperate layers making up the screen. Common on older cars like wedges.

I personally have had problems with autoglass. Gained a chip within two of getting my car. and had autoglass replace the windscreen.

First one, mishapen,

Second one, installed incorrectly.

Third one also installed incorrectly, whch has since caused the door to misalign and 40% of the rubber seal around the edge has peeled away.

Autoglass responded saying that they have done the best job they could as TVR Blackpool state that it take 8 hours to install a screen and Autoglass are restricted to something like 45 minutes per car on average.

I have since been quoted over 300 quid fot the screen to be fixed by a TVR garage.

I wish I had your autoglass company to install my windscreen
