Anybody tell me what trims should be around the outside of the screen on a wedge. Mine has a plastic bit covering most of the bonding glue but the screen cracked last week, Autoglass looked this morning and said that there shouldn`t be any trim, just a smooth bead of sealer. Screen is on order to be fitted next week, if it should have trims then I need to find it soon.
Cheers Dave

I think the 350 had a trim, my 390 certainly does. Later cars like the 400 and 450 did not have trim. What age is yours?

My A reg did. I assumed it was just a bit of flat rubber/plastic for a finish?

It's a T shaped piece of rubber. Provides a nice finish and stops your fingers getting cut on the edge of the glass. Don't ask me too many questions about the fingers part...

Dave,
What sort of £ is the new screen. I've got one in a smashed 280 I was going to take out as a spare for the racer but it's fighting! So it may be easier to by a new one! Unless anyone knows how to get the screenout of a FHC easily!

The trim currently on my car (1986 mk2) is a Tee shaped plastic one held in by the screen glue. What Autoglass showed me looks dead posh as it fits around the edge of the glass and then comes up to a flat top to cover the gap and adhesive. The new screen has had to be ordered direct from TVR, their normal supplier cannot get one. All trims and fitting included-not bad for £50 excess on the insurance. The only way to remove the old screen is to cut through the sealant and run a cheese cutter wire round then lift it out

Autoglass replaced my screen om my 86 350. The original screen had a black plastic u shaped moulding. When they fitted the new screen they had a problem finding a trim that fitted. They spoke to TVR and finally sourced a small rubber t piece. took them 3 days to get it. But did v good job in the end.
