You guys might want to see what happens up north...
OK I thought it was time to check if the car is as allround as I planned it to be when I started the build. The test inludes streetability, storage, ferrys and track...
So what do you need for a real Road Trip? I packed tent, car covet, sleeping bag, tools, spares, clothes, helmet and an 20 liters can V Power. Check! Storage is good
The long tunnels around stockholm passed on the way to the ferry in Nynäshamn. Everything good so far. It's amazing how much the other cars "swirm" around the car with cameras, thumbs up etc.
No problems with the ferry except from the fact that I had to get out of the car since I couldnt reach long enough to show my ticket... Ahh OK I can live with that. Test passed!
Came to Visby on the Island Gotland in the middle of the night and was offered to sleep in a veeery nice hous close to the harbour. The car had a very nice view from the parking
Bonus points where rewarded for the very practical shoe storage shelf in the front...
Tested some gravel roads. Not the best tires for this.
Ok so now we are back on the incredible track "Gotland Ring"
The R-tires from Kumho strarts to get warmed up. Incredible traction with these tires.
A close up of the roof modification. I'm very pleased with the new "anti gold fish bowl look"
I love carbon fiber The stock mirrors are great for parking etc but when I'm on the track they don't do much good since you have to turn your head about 90 degrees to see them. With these mirrors I can see what happens behind me without loosing focus on the track.
The steering wheel has "snap off" with integrated wiring for the buttons so there is no hanging cable.
The trip back home was without problems. I even got escorted by a Police car for a few kilometers without getting stopped
So to sum things up: This car can be used

Totally 100% blown away with this design mate - well done. You have captured the Bentley speed 8 look perfectly and mirrors look great there (vibration issues?)
Glad you like the grip those Kumhos give, they are awesome aren't they.
1)Do you have modded suspension?
2)If not, how many clicks
3)What tyre pressures?
4)Did you opt for medium alround? Bet your fronts faired better than your rears!!
Soz for the questions!!

>mirrors look great there (vibration issues?)
There's no problem with wibrations. The mirrors could have been a bit bigger though. The view is good but everything in the mirrors gets kind of small.
>Glad you like the grip those Kumhos give, they are awesome aren't they.
The Kumhos gets up to working temperature very quick and then stays warm without overheating.
1)Do you have modded suspension?
Yes, I have different dampers and springs. 850 rear 650 front.
2)If not, how many clicks
Maybe not of any help since its different but I run the rears on nearly the stiffest now and the fronts are 7 clicks softer (I guess I have around 25 clicks but not sure) I will opt for a more race inspired setup next year. I will probably fit anit sway bars.
3)What tyre pressures?
I used 20 psi rear and 17 front. The temps was ok but after looking at the tires when I came back home I think that this was a bit too low.
4)Did you opt for medium alround? Bet your fronts faired better than your rears!!
Yes medium. I shall try hard next time. More laps for the money...
Thanks

Thanks for your answers - the tyre pressures most interesting to me. I opted for mediums on front and hards on rears - the idea is to get traction at the front at the same time that the driven wheels heat up.
Again - top draw motor. Well done.

Interesting Idea, I will test that when it's time to change tires.Again - top draw motor. Well done.

GTR-TT, is the bottom of your GTR completely flat/covered? Does the rear diffuser work well? Do you feel more downforce at the rear? Did you check how much downforce it generates at certain speeds in comparison to the normal GTR without one? Thanks.
The flat bottom isn't completed yet and I have no scientific proof of the function. It looks good though When the section from the front splitter to the lowered floor is completed I shall measure the (under?)pressure under the car.
Would it possible for you to create a video that introduces your car? ie. capturing your GTR all around, exterior, interior, starting the engine up, cruising around from the outside and inside, and showing its acceleration from off the line, and from 30mph to 70mph or so? I like watching GTR/CanAms in action.

Some day... any year... I'm not very good at documentation and filming. It was a very big step for me to even bring a camera on this little trip
Hey, is the BLAUPUNKT decal your own preference or is there an commercial aspect to it?
It amazes me how we don't get more savy companies approach us to promote their products......tyres, brakes, audio, oils etc. What better way of attracting interest to thier stands at shows than to have a black / yella / red / orange Ultima their to draw the crowds. And it would keep us in consumables too!!

Since Blaupunkt was one of the sponsors of Porsche teams etc back in the days of group C etc it also feels good for me. Not too much "sell out".
Now I have seen it all...a hybrid GTR. Well done!
How do you like the buttons on the steering wheel? I am doing something similar, but was going to put the plate behind the wheel with access only for thumbs. The electrical connector for the quick-release has 8 conductors, so I figured I could control 7 functions (plus a ground/earth line).
Also, how do you like the buttons you have used? Are they illuminated? What functions do you have on there?

My snap off had no electical connector so I had to make my own solution. I have 15 conductors. Also, how do you like the buttons you have used? Are they illuminated? What functions do you have on there?
I just love to have the buttons on the steering wheel, it works much better than I thought it would be.
The buttons I use aren't illuminated. That would have been nice but on the other hand theres no problem to learn their position.
I use earth for all function. You have to use a few more relays but it's better than having possitive wires all over the place.
The functions right now is
Left turn right turn
High beam horn
Stack 1 Stack 2
Stack 3 Stack 4
I will add high boost and PTT (Push to talk)
Go for it!
