Few friends looking to do something different this year. We have done the French Alps and explored a few passes around Grenoble and Mont Blanc. We ventured into the Italian Lakes then onto Milan (great drivers rolleyes).

This year want to see more of Italy, do the Stelvio and stay a week in Tuscany or similar and maybe do the Nurburg on the way back.

So I thought I would put it out to the Pistonhead massive to see what suggestions you have?

We've just completed a 2700 mile trip, and found the Dolomites and Chocolate Box Switzerland simply stunning. Throw in the Italian Lakes, mix a bit of Black Forest, as many passes as possible, and you have the perfect recipe!

A few photo's here.

Good luck with your plans - when are you thinking of going?

Excellent Pictures!!! Sorry Tel, not for us this time. Did you 'do' Route Napoleon (RN85) last time? we'd recommend it!

Try not to do the Nuremberg.(thats where the war trials were held) its a few hundred miles away from the Nurburgring, I suspect quite a few Brits have been caught out with that one.

I did the Eurohoon a couple of years back - it might be worth posting on there as we drove a spectacular road over the Alps (en route to Stelvio) after staying the night in Austria. One of the guys would know it...

We dropped down to Sienna which is nice and then crossed to Pescara (which isnt). Cortina is a real nice place to stop before tackling the Dolomites. In the Dolomites there are the roads which Audi use as their test bed (i believe) - again post on the Eurohoon thread as I cant recall the name . Im not going senile its just that I was driving and not navigating...

Great roads,scenery etc

I've just checked out your photo's, you seem to do similar trip's to us. They do seem to be doing the Reims pits up quickly, if you look at my profile picture (taken in 2006) and compare it to yours.
