Yes, I can believe it.

Why people pay so much over the odds for what amounts to a stock car with some bolt on bits (and not alot of those either) is astounding.

Secondhand Shelby GT-H instead? V rare, great to drive, although potentially thrashed and way down on power to the GT500.... At last look, the few that were for sale were $65-$70k. Still crazy prices, but not $100k!

the impression i get is that people are (over) compensating for missing out on classics of old, especially with Mustangs. i get the impression that alot of these specials in the past were produced in huge numbers, not really looked after, and rotted. the few that are left have start to appreciate in value somewhat now.

so i think the market is trying to get there hands on the "special" now and paying over the odds at the moment.

the bit that worries me is the amount of historical "specials" being done on one body style (eg the 05 body). by the time they get to the next incarnation they'll have no more specials left to do. as a guess Ford's problem of liquidity are probably more of a pressing issue.

They tried to gouge the Yanks with the GT500 at a minimum of $20k over list and they will try and gouge their customers every time they bring something new out. Sadly, the KR looks like a chav's outfit and has sh*t quality to boot:

You're much better off modifying your own GT or better still, buy a Steeda screaming Q Mustang as a base. Fact: Steeda have won more races than all the other tuners put together - Roush and Saleen included. Can you say 530hp?
